Yikes.
First of all, I can't make any football related post without being happy for my Houston Texans! What a win, draft positioning be damned. In a year where parity is at its peak I didn't expect Houston to get in on the fun, especially against the Titans.
That might be where my wins end however. A bit of a rough week on the start/sit front, with the aforementioned Titans forgetting throwing their RBBC out the window. However there were some bright spots, so lets go ahead and roast myself and take a look.
Wins
Hit of the week: Michael Pittman, Sit vs Bills
I mean, I'll take it? The Colts somehow managed to drop 41 on Buffalo without even needing Pittman Jr. A measly 2 catches for 23 yards is all the stat sheet showed, but Colts fans for sure don't care about that, they care about the win. As they should.
Other Wins:
Mike Davis, Sit vs Patriots. This one was a bit easier than most others, but a surprising amount of people still rolled with Davis this past week. Sorry. Feel ever worse for people who bought into Wayne Gallman staring at a -.3 all weekend.
Darnell Mooney, Start vs Ravens. Proud of this one for sure. I said Mooney was due for a bit play and despite the game being a slugfest he delivered, ending with 5-121-1 in a game the Bears should've won. I am a bit worried for him without Fields going forward, but for at least week 11 we can celebrate this.
Kyle Pitts, Sit vs Patriots. The worst thing to happen to Pitts all season was Calvin Ridley stepping away from football. Teams have been allowed to double and triple cover him since then, and his production has fallen down a ton. Still a lot of talent here, and there are better games coming for sure.
Losses
Miss of the Week: Zack Ertz, Sit vs Eagles
What the hell happened here? Somehow the Cardinals couldn't score at the 1 which resulted in an Ertz touchdown shovel, but besides that he was #1 option for Colt McCoy all game. An 8-88-2 stat line later, we're all wondering if he can keep this up when Kyler/Nuk come back. (Hint: He can't.)
Other Misses
Mike Williams, Sit vs Steelers I was so close here! Before that long game winning touchdown, Williams was in single digit fantasy points. What's worse is that he caught almost all of his passes in the first quarter. Next thing you know, he explodes for a 50+ yard touchdown. Oh well.
Ryan Tannehill, Start vs Texans The Houston Texans had 3 interceptions all season long in 2020, a season where they had more talent both defensively and offensively as well. So, naturally, Tannehill threw 4 interceptions in one of the biggest trap games in recent memory. 300+ yards and a touchdown made up for what otherwise would've been a negative day for one of this weeks most popular streaming options.
Kirk Cousins, Vikings vs Packers The Vikings have been consistently inconsistent this year, and appear to be on one of their hot streaks that I thought the Packers would shut down. I was wrong. Cousins and Jefferson had their way with a Packers unit that had shut down opponents
